with a rather unorthodox style of execution with recording and performances, sunder is an outsider hailing from north st. louis. his style ranges from alternative (and alternative hip hop), edm, pop, lofi and neo soul all balancing to a theme of genre he likes to call “chaotic bliss”. a genre where no matter how loud or tame, he can still pull your heart strings with his lyrics. sunder’s themes of subject matter ranges from love, self love and awareness, and issues within society. sunder has been dropping music since he graduated high school. he dropped his cult classic “rainy daze” from his first ep “my lost drift” in 2017. later in from the 2019-20 period, he dropped his hit singles hurts to smile, two insomniacs, and outsider from his debut album “the fall of sunder.” after a long period of finding his sound and developing his style, he dropped his sophomore album “finding my drift” in 2024. it has his alternative pop singles run the joint, euphoria (for ya), and accidents happen. then he dropped his award winning single good grief (oh no!!). he’s influenced by childish gambino, jhene aiko, chance the rapper, outkast (more on andre 3000), MF DOOM, jadakiss of the lox, illenium, said the sky, odesza, and michael jackson.

meet the artist:

A young man with braided hair and a beard, wearing a white t-shirt, is posing with his hand on his chin against a light blue background, expressing a thoughtful or skeptical emotion.

a thinker. a teamer. a drifter. a dreamer. nobodybutsunder is the epitome of a “free artist”. unboxed and unorthodox. his music can sway to and from any direction, delivering his truth in waves of wordplay. energetic and eager to borrow our ears, connecting with our heart space along the way.” -ngozi the blessed of SheWrites Press
